This luxury safari delivers exceptional experiences year-round. The dry season from June through October offers the most reliable game viewing as animals gather around water sources, and the Great Migration herds traverse the western and northern Serengeti. The green season from November through May brings lush landscapes, fewer visitors, and the calving season on the southern plains — an intimate and exclusive experience that luxury travelers particularly appreciate. Our premium lodges offer superb comfort regardless of season, with climate-controlled suites and covered viewing decks.
Your luxury safari begins with a scenic flight from Arusha to the Serengeti (approximately 1 hour), bypassing the long drive and maximizing your time on the plains. Upon landing at the Seronera airstrip, your dedicated guide will be waiting with your private luxury vehicle. Enjoy a leisurely game drive through the central Serengeti as you make your way to your lodge, arriving in time for a gourmet lunch. The afternoon brings your first game drive, exploring the Seronera River Valley where leopards lounge in sausage trees and prides of lions rest on rocky kopjes. Return to your lodge for sundowners on the terrace, followed by a multi-course dinner prepared by your lodge's executive chef.
Rise before dawn for an exclusive sunrise game drive, the most magical time on the Serengeti when predators are most active and the landscape is bathed in golden light. Your guide will navigate to areas known for cheetah hunts and lion activity. At a scenic spot, your vehicle crew will set up a champagne bush breakfast — fresh pastries, eggs Benedict, tropical fruits, and sparkling wine served on a table draped in white linen amid the wilderness. Continue your game drive through the Moru Kopjes and the Retima Hippo Pool. After lunch and a spa treatment at the lodge, venture out again in the late afternoon for a golden-hour drive, returning as the sun paints the plains in amber and rose.
Enjoy one final morning game drive in the Serengeti, perhaps visiting a different region such as the western corridor or the Grumeti River area, depending on wildlife movements. After a leisurely brunch, begin your journey south through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with game viewing en route. Stop at Olduvai Gorge for a private guided tour of one of the world's most important paleoanthropological sites, where the Leakey family discovered some of the earliest human ancestors. Continue to the Ngorongoro Highlands and arrive at your luxury lodge perched on the crater rim, where floor-to-ceiling windows frame the spectacular caldera views. Tonight, enjoy a private wine-pairing dinner at the lodge's fine-dining restaurant.
Descend 600 meters into the world's largest intact volcanic caldera for an exclusive crater floor experience. With an early start, you'll be among the first vehicles on the crater floor, giving you privileged access to wildlife before other visitors arrive. The 260-square-kilometer caldera is home to approximately 25,000 large animals, including the densest population of lions in Africa, endangered black rhinos, large-tusked elephants, and massive herds of buffalo and wildebeest. Enjoy a gourmet picnic breakfast by the hippo pool, with proper table settings and premium cuisine. Your guide will take you to lesser-visited corners of the crater for intimate wildlife encounters away from the crowds. Ascend in the late afternoon and return to your lodge for a sunset cocktail on the rim.
Savor a final breakfast with panoramic caldera views from your lodge's terrace. After a leisurely morning, depart the highlands and drive back to Arusha through the scenic Great Rift Valley, passing Maasai villages and coffee plantations. Stop at a local cultural heritage center for souvenir shopping and a glimpse into Tanzanian art traditions. Arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel or transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey. For those extending their stay, we can arrange a night at a luxury Arusha lodge or a transfer to Zanzibar for a beach extension.
Prices are per person based on double occupancy. Single supplement applies.

Fly into Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), approximately 60 km from Arusha. Most international airlines serve JRO including KLM, Ethiopian Airlines, Qatar Airways, and Turkish Airlines. From Europe, flight times are approximately 8–10 hours. On Day 1, you'll take a scenic light-aircraft flight from Arusha directly to the Serengeti, saving hours of driving time.
Your guide will pick you up from any hotel in Arusha city center or from Kilimanjaro International Airport. Pickup time is typically 7:30 AM on Day 1 for the flight to the Serengeti. Please confirm your pickup location when booking. An overnight stay in Arusha before the safari is recommended if arriving on an international flight.
The Arusha-to-Serengeti flight departs from Arusha Airport at approximately 8:00 AM and arrives at Seronera Airstrip around 9:00 AM. Luggage is limited to 15 kg in soft-sided bags. Excess luggage can be stored at our Arusha office. The return journey on Day 5 is by road through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Most nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival at JRO for USD $50 (USD $100 for US citizens). An e-visa can also be obtained online before travel. "The Four Seasons Serengeti was beyond our wildest dreams. Waking up to elephants at the waterhole from our suite was surreal. The champagne breakfast on the plains was the most magical moment of our lives. Nashivai thought of every detail."
— Victoria S., United Kingdom • October 2024"We've done luxury safaris across Africa, and this was hands down the best. The &Beyond lodge on the crater rim was extraordinary, and our guide Joseph had an encyclopedic knowledge of every animal. Worth every penny."
